Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s deputies are looking for two people for questioning in connection with the May death of a Mamou man.

Deputies have identified the deceased as Charles Reed, 48, of Mamou. Autopsy results are still pending on his cause of death, deputies say.

They are looking for a man, Shannon James Ardoin, 39, and a woman, Regina Louisa Grant, 37, for questioning.

On May 14, deputies responded to the 1100 block of Jake Lane in the Mamou area and found a man lying in a drainage ditch next to a house. Paramedics were trying to save him, but he never revived, deputies said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Coroner’s Office.

Detectives arrived on scene and began processing the area and questioning witnesses. At that time, a cause of death had not been determined and an autopsy was done.

Deputies said one suspect was taken into custody, "but his name has been withheld due to the current investigation status."

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the two subjects listed above, you are urged to contact the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 337-363-2161.
