Three Lafayette men were indicted by a Lafayette grand jury today in connection with a May shooting.

The shooting happened on Duval Street near the intersection with Mudd Avenue on May 4. A 16-year-old was injured in the shooting. An initial offense report states that the victim suffered from a gunshot wound to the face, side and back.  Officials say that these injuries were non-life threatening.

Witnesses told KATC that kids were practicing baseball near Mudd Avenue when they say gunshots were fired. Bullets struck several trees but the children were not injured.

Indicted today were:

Senegal was arrested a few days following the shooting, but posted bond and was released. A warrant has been issued for Senegal’s arrest on the indictment.

Kendarius Johnen Breaux, 17, charged with attempted second-degree murder. He was arrested a day after Senegal, but remains in LPCC in lieu of $105,000 bond.

Kendall Ray Leopaul, 17, charged with attempted second-degree murder. A warrant has been issued for his arrest on the indictment. According to the indictment, he has not yet been arrested in connection with this incident.
