Brown’s Furniture in Lafayette is officially closed. Crews took down the sign today.
"We have simply outgrown our location and need a new spot to call home," said Jasper Fontenot, owner. "My family has decided to merge the Lafayette and Opelousas locations into one big superstore located off of I-49 between our two locations."
The store has been a staple on Johnston Street since 1978.
"This has been our dream for many years, but we hated to do it because it meant leaving Johnston Street, which has been an amazing home to Brown’s Furniture and our many loyal customers," stated Fontenot.
The new facility is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
