Coast Guard rescues man on inflatable raft in Dauphin Island

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard rescued a person on an inflatable raft near Dauphin Island, Alabama, Monday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Station Dauphin Island received a report from the Dauphin Island Police Department of a person on an inflatable raft that appeared to be in distress, according to a report. 

Station Dauphin Island boatcrew members launched a 45-foot boat to rescue the man, according to a Coast Guard report. 

Boatcrew members brought the distressed man aboard and transported him in good condition to Station Dauphin Island.

The Coast Guard reminds beachgoers of the dangers of rip tides and to heed beach flag warnings.
