One woman is out of a home after a tree fell on her trailer on Basha Street in New Iberia during a storm Wednesday night.
Regenia Alexander says she was on her couch when the lights inside her mobile home started flickering. She got up to get a flashlight, and shortly thereafter, the tree tore through her home, nearly missing her.
Alexander says the fallen tree also totaled two of her vehicles.
She says she’s now staying with her sister, and neighbors have been helping her clean up the damage.
"A lot of people have tried their best to help me as much as they can, but we still need help, especially finding a place of our own to live if there is any way possible," said Alexander.
