Family identifies victim in Ville Platte weekend shooting, seeks justice

Police in Ville Platte are still investigating a weekend homicide in the city. 

Family members have identified the victim in the murder as Holden Ardoin of Ville Platte. Ardoin was shot and killed Sunday morning by a still unknown suspect. His body was found on Demourelle street Sunday in Ville Platte. 

"Whoever did it, they didn’t care,"  Ardoin’s mother Elizabeth Leday said. "We have a little girl that’s so hurt. She miss her dad. She cried every night about her dad and she wish her dad could come back."

Ardoin was a father, a friend, and a son. His family is now questioning what led to the homicide. "I pray every night that God open the doors and let me know what happened to my son." 

Police believe that Ardoin was killed around 2 in the morning on sunday. However, his body wasn’t found until later on that day near a mobile home.

"All I’m asking is that justice be served for our loved one,"  Ardoin’s cousin Denetra Thomas said."This is a is a very difficult time for our family. It’s so heartbreaking for all those involved in this murder. 

The family has one request.

"I ask if anybody knows anything come forward," Racheal Powell said. "My auntie is very hurt. We’re hurt. If you have anything. Turn yourself in.Just please help us let justice be served for my cousin Holden Ardoin. Holden we love you."
