A Sulphur woman is accused of felony theft and obstruction of justice after a four-month theft investigation on two ATVs and campers stolen from a Lacassine RV park.

Both campers were recovered in Beauregard parish, according to Chief Deputy Christopher Ivey, spokesman for the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff Office.

Detectives obtained information after the campers were recovered in Beauregard Parish that Leward Clement and Jessica Clanton were involved in the thefts.  Police say evidence from a traffic stop by Iowa police put them in a stolen truck on December 21, 2017.

On Monday, April 30, Allen Parish deputies arrested Jessica Clanton, 26, on charges of felony theft and obstruction of justice for her involvement in the thefts.

Clanton was transported to Jeff Davis Parish Jail. No bond set at this time.

Leward Clement is being held in Allen Parish Jail on unrelated charges, Jeff Davis Sheriff Office has a hold on him for the pending charges with Clanton.
