Posted

A man wanted for the homicide of a Ville Platte woman turned himself into police last week.

Kathy Weston, 46, was shot in crossfire while walking to a store near the corner of Chaitaignier and Jackson streets in Ville Platte.

A grand jury on Wednesday indicted Robert Marquez Wilson, of Ville Platte, on a charge of second-degree murder.

His brother,Tiberrious Wilson,  was originally arrested for the shooting and had been held in jail since the April 2017 slaying on a $1.4 million bond for second-degree murder and other charges related to the crime. He was released in February.

District Attorney Trent Brignac said last week that new witness testimony led to Robert Marquez Wilson indictment.

Brignac said charges against Tiberrious Wilson in relation to Weston’s murder are set for dismissal at or by his upcoming May 3 court date.
