Posted

Tonight, friends and family are paying tribute to the Breaux Bridge man who was found shot to death in a car on I-10 in Acadia Parish over the weekend.

The family was distraught by the death of Darrell Singleton, 31, who had a baby on the way. Now his family is demanding answers.

"Darrell was a good person, loving person he never hurt nobody. He had a baby on the way, you know, whoever did that we just want justice and you know, his mama hurting," said the victim’s cousin, Skyler Williams.

On Monday night Singleton’s family and friends comforted each other and hoped for justice. Dozens of people gathered on Skipper Street in Breaux Bridge to pay their respects.

"I pray to God that Breaux Bridge comes together like a community should. Put the foolishness aside, let the parents come together. If it’s your kid that’s doing it, if it’s me and your child that’s beefing or have animosity, us as the parents we need to sit them down, come together before one of us be burying our child," said preacher Lawrence Levy III who spoke to the people throughout the vigil.

"We just wish our family member was still with us. It’s a very sad thing when you take someone from their loved ones," said Williams.

So far, there are no arrests in this case. If you have information, call Acadia Parish Crime Stoppers.

Funeral Services are set for Saturday at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge from 7- 11 am.
