Some in Rayne are celebrating their title as an official Old Spanish Trail City.
Every year in November, organizers hold an Old Spanish Trail day at Depot Square.
Now, they are working to bring together other such cities.
"Yea, we have a bit of history here and we can capitalize on that. We can beautify it, we can put out signage when we can and we can collect all these stories…talk about the old days of the motorcourts and so forth and so on and that will be attractive to tourists," said C. Eddie Palmer, Chairperson, Rayne Committee.
