Thousand without power as storms move through Acadiana

Several power companies are reporting several outages affecting hundreds in Acadiana as strong storms move through the area. 

Almost 1,000 people are out of power in Acadia Parish according to SLEMCO.  In St. Landry Parish the company is reporting over 700 people out of power. Evangeline Parish is reporting nearly 200 customers are experiencing outages. In Lafayette Parish centered over Carencro, over 2,000 customers are out of power.

According to Cleco, power outages are being reported just north and south of Eunice affecting around 1,000 customers. 

Entergy is also experiencing outages in Lake Charles where 2,000 people are without power. Customers from Entergy in Acadia have lost power to 536 customers. Maurice residents are also experiencing outages with over 1,000 customers without power.

The causes for the power outages are unclear but are most likely to related strong storms. The cause of each and when they will have power restored is unknown at this time.
