A groundbreaking ceremony was held today for Comeaux High School’s new Performing Arts Academy building.
The school board approved the $7,000,000 project after moving the Performing Arts Academy from Lafayette High to Comeaux.
"Anytime you can come and see a new facility and you see what the students are doing and where they are doing it, it’s always a great attractor for students and parents."
There will be five specialized classrooms for guitar, dance, strings, piano, and music media.
The Performing Arts Academy Building will include a Black Box Theater rather than an auditorium with seating for approximately 150.
