McBR Management Co., the oldest franchisee of McDonald’s restaurants in the area, has sold its 26 locations to McDonald’s of Acadiana, a family-owned franchise group in the Lafayette area, the Baton Rouge Business Report says.

Terms of the deal, which closed today, were not disclosed, according to the BRBR story.  With the acquisition, the Krampes’ McDonald’s of Acadiana, which had 20 restaurants, now has 46 locations from southwest Louisiana to Laplace and more than 2,600 employees, the Business Report says.

Chris Valluzzo—who, with his father, Charlie Valluzzo, and brother, Patrick Valluzzo, owned McBR Management— told the Business Report that his family was not looking to sell the company, founded by his grandfather, the late Roco Valluzzo in the early 1960s. But the owners of McDonald’s of Acadiana, Chris and E.J. Krampe, approached them with an offer Valluzzo says was too good to refuse.

“They’re second-generation operators, good family friends that we’ve known since the 1970s,” he tells the Business Report. “We all grew up in the business together and they came to us and it was just a wonderful situation.”
