OPELOUSAS — The Opelousas Police Department is providing more information on a Friday morning shooting that injured two.
Officers say they responded to the 1100 block of W. Park Avenue just before 3:00 am in reference to a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers say they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to the department, one of the victims suffered a non life-threatening injury to the hand while the second victim was shot in the upper body causing serious injury.
Both victims were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment. One victim was treated and released, while the other still remains in the hospital in serious condition.
Police say the victims were shot while they sitting in a vehicle in front of a residence on Park Ave.
Video surveillance in the area captured a vehicle that was involved in the shooting.

The department says there are no suspects at this time.
