Grand Marais Mardi Gras is already in full swing.
Costume competitions will continue this weekend all the way through Mardi Gras day.
All ages are welcome to compete but this year is the first time teens and children will have separate celebrations for Mardi Gras.
Volunteers say they hope the younger generation will carry on the tradition that has been passed down to them.
“I hope they learn this is a family tradition, this is passed down many generations and its something we truly love and we try to make sure they love it too and its good clean family fun and we are all in it together,” said Tina Olivier, Grand Marais Mardi Gras.
