Just in time for the holidays and the release of the upcoming Stars Wars film, “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” Le Creuset, the French company known for their colorful enameled cast-iron pots and pans, has launched a limited-edition collection of Star Wars-themed cookware.
Among the super-cool Star Wars items that you can buy are a roasting pan that has a 3D image of Han Solo on the top, depicting “The Empire Strikes Back” scene where the character is frozen in carbonite, as well as a glossy black round Dutch oven with a profile of Star Wars villain Darth Vader on the top. Like other Le Creuset products, both of these items are pricey, ringing in at $450 and $395, respectively.
However, the roasting pan isn’t most expensive piece in the collection. That honor is reserved for a $900 special-edition Tatooine round Dutch oven that is hand-painted pink, orange, and white to reflect the “desert planet with captivating binary sunsets,” as the description reads. “Star Wars” fans will remember that Tatooine is the home planet of Luke Skywalker in the movie franchise — and the very first planet to be depicted in “Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope,” the original film from 1977.
Since only nine of these Dutch ovens were produced worldwide, Le Creuset is requiring potential customers to sign up on their website for an opportunity to purchase one. Two winners will be chosen through a random drawing.
Take a look at this Instagram video that Le Creuset posted, which shows the process of how these Tatooine Dutch ovens are painted by hand:
If $900 hand-painted cookware isn’t in your budget, you may want to consider buying or gifting the “Star Wars”-lover in your life one of the more affordably priced $30 mini cocottes. Round mini cocottes are essentially individually-sized Dutch ovens, and for this “Star Wars” collection, you can choose between R2-D2, C-3PO and BB-8 designs. (Or get all three!)
Visit the Le Creuset website to see the full “Star Wars” collection, including Millennium Falcon and Death Star trivets for $20 and a Porg pie bird for $25 that can be used to vent steam from home-baked pies. There are eight items in total, so you may wish to collect every item — if it fits your budget.
These cool kitchen items promise to be as epic as the new movie! Are you excited yet?
