UPDATE: The intersection of E. Kaliste Saloom Road and SW Evangeline Thruway has reopened to traffic after a major vehicle crash, according to the Lafayette Police Department.

Lafayette Police are investigating a major crash with injuries involving an 18-wheeler at the intersection of E. Kaliste Saloom Road and SW Evangeline Thruway.
All southbound lanes of Evangeline Thruway near the intersection of E. Kaliste Saloom Road are closed.
Traffic is being rerouted to Kaliste Saloom.
