UPDATE: A Lafayette man who was the victim in a weekend hit and run accident has died, Lafayette Police say.
Daniel Ben, 39, of Lafayette, died from his injuries.
Another Lafayette resident, Lani Richard, 44, has been booked one count felony hit and run.
The crash happened Friday night on Verot School Road.
Lafayette Police tell us a vehicle was traveling south in the center lane. At the same time a person was walking in that lane, which is the turn lane. The vehicle hit the person and then drove away. .
When police arrived, the person was unresponsive, and CPR was done at the scene.
The crash happened in the 100 block of Verot School Road at about 11:42 p.m. Friday.
