LAFAYETTE, La. — In Thursday night's meeting, the Lafayette Parish School Board approved the dress code for the 2025-2026 school year.
The most notable changes: blue and black jeans will be allowed for all students Pre-K through 12th, and children in grades Pre-K through 5th grades can now wear hoodies. Kids in high school still must wear hoodless jackets.

Here are the new bell times approved:
High Schools including Early College Academy (ECA) - 7:05 a.m. - 2.35 p.m. With the exception of David Thibodaux STEM Magnet Academy - 7:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Middle Schools - 7:15 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Elementary Schools - 8:10 a.m. - 3:25 p.m.
Including Milton Elementary/Middle and J. Wallace James Elementary
Excluding ACE Elementary Schools - Alice Boucher, Dr. Raphael A. Baranco and J. W. Faulk Elementary which will be 7:50 a.m. - 3:35 p.m.
Early Childhood Education Centers: Truman and Drexel Early Childhood Education Centers 8:20 a.m. - 3:20 p.m.
