UPDATE: Police say the shooting in which a child died Thursday was an accident.
Another child was involved, and the four-year-old boy who died was accidentally shot, Lafayette Police say.
Police were called to the 100 block of Bryan Street around 10:30 a.m. to investigate an injured child. The child was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where the child was pronounced dead.
