Times Square is one of the world’s busiest pedestrian hubs. Now, this global tourist destination will get even sweeter thanks to the addition of a huge Krispy Kreme doughnut shop on the intersection of 48th Street and Broadway.
This new Krispy Kreme isn’t going to be just any ordinary doughnut shop (although that, in and of itself, would be pretty dang awesome).
This flagship Krispy Kreme store is going to offer doughnut-fans a “wholly immersive” dining experience that will turn a doughnut run into a truly memorable event.
According to a Krispy Kreme press release, the new shop will open early next year. At 4,500 square feet, this Krispy Kreme will serve more customers annually than any other Krispy Kreme in the world, so let’s hope they have those doughnut fryers primed and ready!
At this new location, customers will be able to see their beloved doughnuts come to life before their eyes.
“From the mixing of raw ingredients to the iconic glaze waterfall, Krispy Kreme Times Square Flagship will showcase the end-to-end doughnut-making process,” explains the Krispy Kreme news release.
“And guests can take that first bite while sitting in the world’s largest Krispy Kreme doughnut box with stadium-style seating, offering the perfect view of the doughnut theater across the shop.”
Okay, we have never heard the phrase “doughnut theater” before, but now that we have, we definitely want front-row seats!
And a “glaze waterfall” sounds like a magical creation straight out of Willy Wonka’s imagination.
Times Square visitors will be able to see the “Hot Light” from several city blocks away, as it will be the world’s largest hot doughnut sign.
And if you are short on time like most busy New Yorkers, no worries: You can grab-and-go from an exterior walk-up window whether you want original glazed doughnuts or a cup of joe.
