In honor of their 12th birthday on Feb. 22, Jennifer Lopez shared an adorable photo of her twins — Emme Maribel and Maximilian “Max” David — as babies. In the throwback Instagram photo, an always-glamorous Lopez stares lovingly at her newborns asleep in their crib.
“I know you’re 12 years old today but you will always be my babies… ð¥¥ð¤ð¤ð¥¥ HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BEAUTIFUL COCONUTS!!!” Lopez captioned the picture of Emme and Max, whom she had with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.
Lopez has said she calls the twins her coconuts because “when they were little and in their cribs and started growing hair, it looked just like a coconut to me, they both look like coconuts.”
Her fiancé Alex Rodriguez also wished his future stepchildren a great birthday on his Instagram feed.
“Happy Birthday Emme & Max!!!!! I’m so proud of both of you and so lucky to be a part of your life. I love you!” Rodriguez wrote.
He included photos of him and Lopez with Emme and Max and his two daughters, Natasha, 15, and Ella, 11. The kids and their parents have already blended well as a family if the pictures are any evidence.
Lopez’s fans also got a glimpse of the twins’ birthday via an IGTV video recap of their tandem sleepover celebrations. Big blue, silver and white balloons and banners decorated the Lopez-Rodriguez home while the twins opened gifts with Lopez’s mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez.
Next up, Emme and her friends enjoyed bubble tea, followed by pool time, ramen and a dance party with grandma, and then face masks. Max and his buddies, meanwhile, hung out in tents in the Lopez-Rodriguez home, had pizza and played video games.
To cap off the night, all the kids came together — in matching PJs — to sing “Happy Birthday” and enjoy some birthday cake. Max had a two-tier classic video game cake and Emme’s was a single-tier floral cake.
It sounds like the perfect birthday for these lucky twins! Can you believe Lopez’s kids are almost teens?
