IBERIA PARISH — UPDATE: The boil order for the area is still in effect.
A rental generator is on-site at the water plant while waiting for replacement parts.
Before the precautionary boil advisory can be lifted, the plant must send samples off to the Department of Health to be tested. That is expected to happen Friday.——
Iberia Parish President M. Larry Richard has announced a boil advisory for the area.
Coteau Water's main generator for the water plant has experienced electrical problems amid the power outage currently affecting the area.
Another generator is enroute, which will be kept onsite until the necessary repairs have been made to the plant.
The water is expected to be restored by 8:30 p.m.
