UPDATE: The Iberia Parish Coroner's Office has identified the man found shot to death on Lafayette Street last night.
The victim is Lamarcus Daniels, 35, of New Iberia.
As we reported earlier today, New Iberia Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Monday night.
Officers were called to the 600 block of Lafayette Street around 10 p.m. Monday.
When they got there, they found a man in the front yard of a home, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
The man was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Detectives were called to the scene and are currently investigating, a spokesman said.
