Iberia Parish President M. Larry Richard declared a State of Local Emergency effective January 17, 2025, until further notice.
Richard stated the parish is facing the threat of extreme cold weather and possible precipitation.
Emergency Operations Plans are activated, with the Iberia Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness and Homeland Security serving as the primary point of contact, according to Richard.
