Nothing — and I mean nothing — beats a hot, steamy cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter day.
Whether you start your morning with the sweet treat, save it for special occasions like Christmas Day or jazz it up by adding peppermint (or perhaps by turning it into an adult beverage), there’s no denying it’s perfect for warming you up and making you feel extra-cozy.
While it’s easy to make using the instant, powdered hot chocolate, if you want real chocolate melted right into frothy milk, it takes a bit more work. Unless, of course, you head to Target and pick up this unique treat just in time for the holidays: hot cocoa bombs!
From Wondershop and exclusively at Target, you can purchase one rich hot chocolate bomb for $1.99 or a 3-pack for $3.99.
The flavorful chocolate shells have mini marshmallows hidden inside, and they melt instantly into hot cocoa when mixed with warm milk, so all you have to do is heat up a glass of milk and drop a bomb in it!
Last year, Instagrammer @JunkFoodOnTheGo tried the Target hot cocoa bombs and said they melt right into the milk and taste good.
You could also try your hand at making your own hot cocoa bombs, as with this recipe from Create Kids Club that is customizable depending on whether you prefer milk, white or dark chocolate and if you want extras like peppermint.
If hot chocolate on a stick is more your thing, a website called Popbar makes just that! Simply stir the stick into any hot milk of your choice and it turns into hot chocolate. A classic 3-pack at Popbar goes for $8.99, and you can also find a similar product at Williams Sonoma for $13.95.
If you’re looking for even more hot chocolate treats, Hershey’s hot cocoa kisses are back on shelves for the holiday season. The kisses combine a marshmallow-flavored creme center with the traditional Hershey’s milk chocolate shell.
Target also has a variety of other hot chocolate goodies, like hot cocoa spoons and a hot cocoa bar kit, which comes with two different cocoas (milk and dark chocolate), plus three mix-ins (peppermint sprinkles, caramel bits and mini marshmallows).
Will you be picking up some of Target’s hot cocoa offerings this holiday season?
