Festival International is officially over. This year, festival goers were lucky to have some great weather for the event, which drew more than 300,000 people to Downtown Lafayette.
From the delicious food vendors to the wide variety of musicians, the 33rd annual Festival International had something for everyone.
“It’s definitely got a great vibe and there’s a lot to experience here that I wouldn’t be able to experience anywhere else. Like I’m new to Louisiana and it’s really cool to see Cajun music that people really appreciate,” said Liz Devito, who lives in New Orleans. She says she comes to Lafayette for festival to escape the overcrowding that Jazz Fest brings.
“This is like my favorite part of the year. All of my friends do Jazz Fest that live in New Orleans and they’re always like ‘you should come’ and I’m like ‘oh no, no I’m coming to festival.’ Because its magical and everyone comes together, we eat, we drink,” said Lafayette native, Stephanie Collins.
Robert Randolph was the last performance, now the countdown to next year’s festival begins!
