LAFAYETTE, La. - Festival International has released the first 2020 performer.
Ayrad will bring the sounds of Morocco all the way to downtown Lafayette this April.
Ayrad (pronounced “hi-e-rad”) fuses the talents of musicians from different backgrounds and never hesitates to transgress musical boundaries.Their sound explores and integrates different genres such as Electro, Gypsy Funk, Desert Rock, Rai, Bhangra, Hip Hop and even Afro-Peruvian grooves. This group of musicians is able to take their songs to the limit, infusing them with a contagious, quasi-magical energy that leaves no audience untouched, according to Festival International organizers.
Festival International is a five-day festival in downtown Lafayette that attracts more than 300,000 people. The festival showcases established and emerging international artists while incorporating the sounds Louisiana has to offer. Downtown Lafayette transforms into an entertainment mecca for all ages. Music brings the community together for this cultural celebration every spring. This year the festival will take place April 22-26.
Festival International will be releasing an artist every Friday now through February 8th.
