Ellen DeGeneres has caught the pandemic makeover bug! The 62-year-old Emmy Award winner just debuted a new hairstyle that has fans talking.

The pompadour style is a big change for the television host, who has rocked a side part for many years. DeGeneres is well-known for her trim, blond pixie cut, but the new ‘do features some height on top and slicked-back sides, bringing some serious 1950s hairstyle vibes.

You can see DeGeneres showing off her new haircut in the “thirsty” photo that the talk show tweeted in an effort to encourage people to vote.

A few days later, the Page Six Twitter account posted some close-up shots of the hairstyle.

The new look got people talking — but not everyone loves it. Some, like Twitter user @tweetermedo, are comparing it to the hairstyle of Vergil in the video game Devil May Cry.

Others, like @jimpea3, say it has major villain vibes (though we are not sure why Guy Fieri counts as a villain!).

Unfortunately, as @geonews_english points out, considering DeGeneres’s recent public relations scandal (in which many of her staff members accused her of being cruel to them), a hard, edgy look isn’t going to do much to repair her image.

Over the summer, many people who work for DeGeneres — plus some guests who went on the show — came forward to complain about the toxic work environment and the way DeGeneres herself treated them. A Black employee said she experienced microaggressions and that high-ranking staff writers would make inappropriate jokes or remain silent when BIPOC employees were disrespected.

“I feel angry about the way I was treated, and I am always going to stand up for Black, Indigenous, Latino and Asian people, regardless if they’re around,” the former employee told BuzzFeed in July. “I can’t not say anything. I’m not going to stop talking.”

During the season 18 premiere of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” the talk show host took responsibility for the workplace culture, and she addressed the people who suffered mental strain as a result of being employed by her show.

“We have had a lot of conversations over the last few weeks about the show, our workplace and what we want for the future,” DeGeneres said. “We have made the necessary changes and today we are starting a new chapter.”

What do you think? Does the new hair work for her or do you miss her softer pixie cut?
