Whether you’re hanging onto the last vestiges of summer for dear life or you can’t wait for autumn to begin, Dairy Queen has a treat that’s perfect for you. Before the month is out, Pumpkin Pie Blizzards will be back at the ice cream chain.
The seasonal delight will be back on Aug. 26, which is a little early for a fall-themed treat But since it’s ice cream, it’s perfect for an end-of-summer snack. Grab one to celebrate the changing of the seasons!
The Pumpkin Pie Blizzard first debuted back in 1991, and it has returned every fall since. It blends Dairy Queen’s vanilla soft serve with chunks of yummy pumpkin pie. It’s topped with whipped cream and nutmeg.
Last year, Dairy Queen took to Instagram to share a promo video of the seasonal menu item, and it looks so good:
“I am the Pumpkin Pie BLIZZARD Treat,” read the caption. “And my real pumpkin pie pieces don’t just make me delicious. They make me the sweetest way to start the season. No plate? No problem.”
As someone who loves pumpkin pie- and pumpkin spice-flavored treats more than the actual pie itself, this special Blizzard is right up my alley. If you’re also anxiously awaiting all your favorite pumpkin products, the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard is not the only autumnal treat that’s on the way.
Pillsbury Grands! Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Rolls have already been spotted on grocery store shelves. They’re made with Cinnabon cinnamon and come with pumpkin spice icing. Grab a 17.5-ounce can at retailers like Walmart and Target for about $4.
Another addition to the ever-growing lineup of pumpkin spice products is Pumpkin Spice Spam, debuting this fall. Although it started as a joke, the wacky product will be available on Spam.com and Walmart.com for a limited time beginning Sept. 23.
Want to make pumpkin spice yourself so you can add it to whatever treat you like? Here’s a recipe from Betty Crocker that simply requires that you mix a few spices together. Keep some in your kitchen so you can add it to any food you create, instantly giving it a fall feel!
