EUNICE — City council members will vote tonight on whether to split the city from the Opelousas-Eunice Library System and create a separate Eunice City Library.
The council gave preliminary approval for the move in June. Tonight's final vote will come after a public hearing on the matter. Officials who support the library split say the move would save Eunice money in the long run.
The public hearing begins at 6:15 p.m. The regular meeting begins immediately afterward.
