On Your Six in Turkey Creek: What’s Your Story

Typically it’s the What’s Your Story sign that brings in all the attention, but this week it was a different sign that brought us to Gobble Gully Paintball in Turkey Creek.

The paintball facility is run by Rhonda and Frank Butler, high school sweethearts who have been married for 24 years now.

“It was to get the grandkids off of the video games,” said Frank when asked what it was the prompted them to open the business.

They both grew up in the area and this far from their only business venture in Turkey Creek, Frank cut grass when he was barely old enough to push the mower, while Rhonda talked about her years babysitting.

After an 11-year career in the Navy serving on board a submarine, Frank returned to Turkey Creek where he and Rhonda finally married.

Now they have a chance to give back to their community, offering not only entertainment but a place where local kids can look for work.

Teaching the kids who work there the same values that Frank learned during his years on the submarines.
