Tools for Schools: Eaton Park Elementary

KATC's Tools for Schools is back on the road this week in Vermilion Parish at Eaton Park Elementary.

Mrs. Christine Joiner needed a way to keep her kids safe, still, and focused during the school day. So thanks to KATC & Jim Olivier's family of Companies students are getting an IPAD table.

"We were looking for something and we figured the IPads could be locked into place they still could get movement by standing if they needed to, moving around. But the IPads would be in a good location and because they are drawn to the IPads they wouldn't be moving all around the classroom with it," Joiner said.

Joiner says the IPads will help her students greatly and is thankful that her class was chosen as a recipient.

I'm elated because one of them he struggles a lot with standing in one place and he loves the IPad. He's an autistic little boy and this does my heart good to see him being able to enjoy what he loves and still be able to function in the classroom. One of my parents she knows I have a lot on my plate a lot of the time so she said that she was going to step in and try to look for what we needed and get the application going for Tools for Schools and she got it done. We submitted it to y'all and thankfully we were picked for Tools for Schools. "

Tools for Schools is brought to you by Jim Olivier's Family of companies.
