LAFAYETTE, La. — And so, on this cold, cold day, we’ve got warm, warm news for the ICU nurses of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.

Cue: Joseph Summers, co-owner of Rooted for Good.

“We’re calling it Frontline February, because as we all know, we’re about year in now to this pandemic.”

And with that, Joseph and his wife Brooke of the Abbeville area, are using their relatively new company called Rooted for Good---and their all-natural skin care line--- to say, “Thank you”

“So, that’s what this is,” explains Summers. “Our effort to bless people who are serving on the front line and then invite the community and reaching out and doing something on the frontline this February.”

Joseph was an ICU nurse and Rooted for Good channeled that passion today by delivering and donating over 158 jars of their best-selling hand cream to ICU nurses at Our Lady of Lourdes.

“I love the concept of Frontline February,” smiles Jeigh Stipe of the Lourdes Foundation. “It just sort of encapsulated almost 11 months of the pandemic. Our team members have been on the frontline since day one.”

Which means they are deserving of at least a thought, or in this case, an amazing show of appreciation.

“So, we are gifting one of these jars of cream to ICU and emergency room nurses here at Lafayette Lourdes, and we think they’ll love it or, at least, we certainly hope they will,” adds Summers.

Rooted for Good made this Friday even warmer by bringing in a culinary partner--South End Country Mart-- to provide lunch.

And you know? On its surface, it was a small gesture—a jar of all-natural hand cream—but just below that surface?

It’s a great, GREAT gesture to those frontliners who --- especially since early last year--- have really put themselves out there, time and time again.

“This is going to be a wonderful opportunity,” begins Stipe appreciatively, “to give them something special that reminds them are still people out there who think about them, who pray for them, who want to do good for them. So, it’s just a great treat, on a very cold Friday.”

Here’s your homework.

Go to the Rooted for Good Facebook page, like the group and then nominate someone, thinking about that frontline worker who has done so much good for you and for all of us.
