LAFAYETTE, La. - Love Our Schools completed their first project of the new year in Lafayette Parish.
Partnering with Parish Ink on the production of more than 6,000 sweatshirts, Love Our Schools kicked off "Project Sweatshirt" at Lafayette Middle School on Wednesday. Sweatshirts were handed out to students, teachers and staff.
"You know the sweatshirts is something we haven't seen done before, and its getting a little cold," said Ryan Domengeaux, CEO of Schumacher Family Foundation. "And we thought it was a good opportunity for us to show these kids that they're loved and appreciated as well as the faculty and the staff and everyone is so excited about it."
This week, the nine schools of the Lafayette Parish School System's Transformation Zone (identified below) will receive Love Our Schools sweatshirts for all students, teachers and staff.
