Love Our Schools: Alice Boucher Elementary

Alice Boucher Elementary in Lafayette is yet another one of those schools that we love.

And members of our community are about to show the school just how much in a very big way.

On Saturday, August 10, volunteers will pick up their paint brushes and gloves to bring some color back into the hallways and the grounds of Alice Boucher.

"We have great things going on in the school," says principal Catherine Guillory ."To revitalize the school and put new energy, and in our case some new color into the school is a big thing."

The school plans to paint their hallways with bright colors and give an update to the school's basketball court. Basketball goals will be pressure washed and repainted in a brand new color while the court's unique United States map will get a much needed makeover.

"We have a map of the United States on the basketball court, " says Guillory. "We'll be repainting that and to add a bit of subliminal education, we'll be outlining the Louisiana Purchase.

There's a lot to be done, but it's all for a good cause.
