This year's virtual edition of Festivals Acadiens et Creoles begins on Friday, October 16.

The festival was pushed back from its original start date on Friday, October 9 due to Hurricane Delta's arrival in Louisiana.

Chef and festival organizer Patrick Mould joined GMA to share a little more about this year's virutal edition.

"It's been a total pivot for us going from a live event to essentially a streaming event," he said. "We had to bring in camera people and graphic designers and audio engineers specifically for streaming music content on the world wide web."

Mould says that shows have bee pre-recorded and will be live streamed on the festivals website and Facebook page.

Fans of the festival have been eager to enjoy. An updated weekend lineup has been posted, here.

"We already have a global audience that comes to Lafayette, Louisiana and we've been getting emails from those people wanting to know about the live stream," Mould said.

A virtual kickoff will begin at 7:30 pm on Friday, October 16.
