St. Martin Council on Aging to hold 4th annual Walk-a-Thon

The St. Martin Council on Aging will hold their 4th annual "S.O.S--Support Our Seniors" Walk-a-Thon on March 7th.

That event will takes place at Parc Hardy in Breaux Bridge starting at 9:00 am until noon.

Registration begins at 8:00 am.

Shanise Lewis joined GMA on Wednesday, February 26 to share more about the event which benefits the St. Martin Council on Aging's work to support and advocate for seniors in the parish.

Lewis says that all ages are welcome to participate in the Walk-a-Thon. There will also be a 5K Run.

Local social service agencies will be set up to provide various health screenings and distribute information.

A blood drive will also be held.

Entertainment for the event includes a DJ and Donna Angelle and the Zydeco Posse, along with local cheerleaders.

Those who register early will receive a free t-shirt Poboy meals will be available for $6.
