The St. Landry Parish Cattlemen's Association will host their 35th annual Here's the Beef Cookoff on Saturday, March 7.
Cooks of all backgrounds and skill levels will be serving up all types of beef in categories ranging from Brisket to Roast and Stews to Rice and Gravy.
The Cattlemen's Association joined GMA on Thursday to share where you can taste some of the best beef dishes around.
The family-oriented event takes place behind the Yambilee building on Hwy 190 West in Opelousas.
Trail rides begin at 8:00 am and music begins at 10:00 am. Bands featured at this year's event are Matthew Ewing and the All Star Band and High Performance.
Cook-off judging begins at 12:30 pm with the winners being named by about 2:30 pm.
Competitors are encouraged to head out to the cook-off grounds on Friday to begin set up for Saturday's event.
Organizers say they will still be take a few last minute entries for the competition.
A portion of the proceeds from the cook-off will go to support the Lions Club.
