The 8th annual Shake Your Trail Feather Festival takes place on Saturday, October 19 in Breaux Bridge.
KATC's Scott Brazda was LIVE with more on the festival.
Parc du Pont in Breaux Bridge will fill with music, artisans, and lovers of the Bayou Teche for their 8th annual Shake Your Trail Feather Festival.
This year's theme is "Woo Loves the Bayou?"
The fun begins at 11:30 am and guest are invited to travel in style to the festival grounds by launching a kayak from Poche Bridge and traveling via floating escort.
There's also a peddling option where festival-goers can grab their bikes and travel to the Parc while making stops at Bayou Teche Brewery and Poches Meat Market.
The "Trail Feathers" bike event begins at 7:00 am.
A shuttle service will also be available.
To register for the 2 hour float down to the festival or the 27-mile "Trail Feathers" Bike event, click here.
The festival is free to attend, but organizers are encouraging those who attend to purchase a $5 festival pin to help raise funds for the TECHE Project's Paddle Trail.
And as always, festival guests can dress like their favorite bird in order to really, "shake their trail feathers."
Music for the festival includes performances from following musicians:
- The St. Bernard School French Musicians (11:30 to 12:15 Heritage Tent),
- Stop the Clock (12:00-1:30),
- Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys (2:00-3:30)
- Horace Trahan and the Ossun Express (4:00-6:00)
Artisans will be selling their wares and educational discussions and demonstrations will take place throughout the day on the festival grounds.
