The first-ever Kids Need Kiwanis Golf Tournament is scheduled for Monday, October 26, 2020, at The Wetlands Golf Course in Lafayette. This will be the club's major fundraising event this year after high school football jamborees across the state were canceled due to COVID-19.
As always, 100% of all proceeds go to programs in Acadiana that directly provide for the needs of children, according to a release from the club.
Some of the programs the Kiwanis Club is responsible for include: Parc Independence, Clark Field turf, UL and SLCC scholarships, Wheels of Wonder (bicycles for foster kids) and Operation Magi (Christmas shopping for homeless children).
The tournament is limited to 25 teams, with four players each.
Deadline to sign up is October 23, 2020. Prizes range from $75 to $125 in gift certificates to Pro Shop. In addition, The player to make a hole-in-one on hole 13, could win a vehicle from Courtesy Automotive Group.
Sponsorship levels range from $125 to $5000. From signs at the tournament, to team entries, to announcements at the tournament, the club has plenty of options, according to the release. Deadline to sign up is October 9, 2020.
