Pet of the Week: Tiger

and last updated

Animal shelters in Acadiana have seen an influx of animals following Hurricane Laura.

They continue to help their neighboring parishes as they get their shelters back up and running.

However, kitten season is now something that could add to those numbers.

The season typically starts in April and picks back up in October. Heidi Paterson, spokesperson for Acadiana Animal Aid, said that is why fosters are so important.

"With puppies it is all year round," Paterson explained. "With kittens it is definitely the spring time and later fall. We're going to have a big need coming up in the next couple of weeks."

One kitten who is in need of a family right now is our GMA Pet of the Week, Tiger.

He is a little older, but will make a great pet for anyone.

Tiger is one of the longest stay cats at Acadiana Animal Aid.

Shelter employees hope that his face will melt your heart like he has everyone at Acadiana Animal Aid.
