Foster the Love Louisiana is an organization in Louisiana whose mission is to care for the children in the Louisiana foster system, support the families that care for these children, and educate the community on the needs of the foster care system.
A pajama drive is launching to benefit children in foster care across Acadiana.
The organization is accepting new pajamas for the first night bags for foster children in sizes premie to XL Adult.
Bags will be given to children as they enter foster care to make sure that they have the essential items that they need while also having things that belong to them.
Pajamas will be collected throughout the month of December.
There are 30 different collection locations across Acadiana. A list of locations can be found on the organization's Facebook page.
The pajama drive will launch on December 6 with a Children's Holiday Concert Series.
The event promises a night of holiday music with performances by The Music Box!
There will be four hour-long mini concert sets at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8 p.m.
There will also be a Santa photo booth, gingerbread cookie decorating, ornament decorating, and a sipping station with hot cocoa, beer, and wine.
Admission to the concert series is free, but other booths including crafts and other activities will require tickets which can be purchased from the ticket table.
The event will be held in the Oil Center.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Foster the Love Louisiana.
