Lynette Miller and Katie Primeaux both started their nursing careers at Acadia General in Crowley. They have since both moved to Lafayette General, working as team leaders of nurses tending to patients having elective surgeries.
When these elective surgeries were all put on hold due to a pandemic, they both felt inclined to call the hospital in their home town to see how they could help.
Acadia General was experiencing a surge in COVID-19 patients, and the ladies' calls came at a pivotal time.
Over the last couple of months they have teamed up to work in an intense and sometimes scary environment, saying this is exactly what they signed up for as nurses and they are happy to serve the community that gave them their wings.
