Each year, LARC's Beads-N-More store stocks it shelves full of recycled beads and throws from past Mardi Gras celebrations.
As Carthy Guillet explains, the store is a perfect place to purchase inexpensive Mardi Gras treasures while supporting a wonderful cause.
Abby Breidenbach met up with Guillet on GMA for details on all the carnival must-haves the store has to offer.
LARC works with adults in the community with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Beads-N-More store is one of their enterprises that employees 12 individuals to clean, sort, and bag beads and throws for resale.
Work at the store is a year-round process, and LARC says that they are available supply any specialty bead requests to parade and event organizers at any time of the year.
"You name it, we'll do it," says Guillet.
The store even keeps a small selection of specialty throws and costumes.
The beads that come into the store each year are donated after parades finish rolling for the Mardi Gras season.
Donations can be made to the store by going online to lafayettelarc.org.
The store is open from Monday - Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
