Lafayette Public Library hosting Mardi Gras events

The North, South, East and Main Branches of the Lafayette Public Library are opening their doors to young revelers this Mardi Gras season.

On Tuesday, February 18 and Wednesday, February 19, children ages 5 through 12 can head to their nearest Lafayette library branch to make their own Mardi Gras mask.

Events begin at 4:00 pm or 4:30 pm (Check event times, here). They are free to attend.

Each location will use different materials, from cardboard to chicken wire, to help children construct their masks.

While crafting, children will learn about Mardi Gras traditions and take part in those customs.

At the Main Branch, there will even be a mock chicken run.
