Mardi Gras season is already upon us with the first ball happening this weekend.

Abby Breidenbach was LIVE this morning with a look ahead at the Rio ball.

This Saturday, the Krewe of Carnivale en Rio will kick-off the Mardi Gras celebrations with the first ball in Lafayette.

The 15th annual event is set to begin at 7:00 pm at the Cajundome Convention Center.

And members say it's not to late to grab tickets to their yearly spectacle.

This year's theme is "Let's Do Rio."

With pyrotechnics, a light show and dazzling costumes, the krewe says the night is one that revelers won't want to miss.

New this year, four floats will be set up around the convention center acting as entertainment stages for the night. Members say this will create a 360 degree show making the night enjoyable for everyone.

Those interested in partying with the krewe will need to get in touch with any current member. Tickets are not expected to last long. For more information visit the krewe's Facebook page.

Attire for the evening's festivities are black tie.

The Rio parade rolls on Saturday, February 15 at 6:30 pm in Lafayette.
