Mardi Gras is special time for South Louisiana. And for first or second-time visitors, finding your way through the carnival chaos can be difficult.
So KATC met up with some experts at Breaux Bridge Primary about how to make the most out of a day on the parade route.
From floats to beads the kids share their thoughts on just what makes this time of year so special.
As for catching those coveted throws. The experts are divided between giving float riders a good holler or waving your hands in the air.
For maximum bead overload, some suggest getting creative with your loot snagging gear. Backpacks filled with honey, suitcases with glue, and an upside down umbrella were all deemed suitable for pulling in the most beads this year.
And while those inventions may not be conventional, there is one thing each student agrees upon.
"When in doubt, Mambo it out." That's the Mardi Gras Mambo for those who don't know.
