Enrollment is now open for Pre-K, Head Start and other early childhood development programs in Lafayette Parish for children ages 6 weeks to 4 years old.
LPSS Early Childhood Director, Christine Duay and Lafayette Ready Start Network Coordinator, Emmy Thibodeaux joined GMA to share more about the programs available and how to apply.
Parents can go online to www.enrolllafayette.com begin the online application process.
Duay says that the website allows for the uploading of all required documents like birth certificates, shot records and proof of utilities. In order to be eligible for a seat in the LPSS Pre-K 4 program, parents must apply online.
The website, according to Thibodeaux, is a "one-stop-shop" where parents can find resources like quality indicators for each program and what to look for along with outside resources that may provide support beyond the childcare realm.
Programs of the Early Childhood Network serve children ages 6 weeks to 4 years old include: Early Head Start, Head Start, Nonpublic Schools of Early Childhood Development (NSECD), and Type III Early Learning Centers (Child Care Centers) of the Lafayette Parish Early Childhood Community Network.
