Abby's Apps: Stay Fit at Home

and last updated

As the Coronavirus outbreak has many of us stuck at home and doors closed at our regular gyms and fitness studios it seems impossible to get a decent workout in.

This week's Abby's Apps has three apps that are free for the time being and will help you stay fit from home.

Peloton, normally 13 dollars a month, has a free 90 day trial. it requires none of their expensive equipment and includes easy to follow videos including yoga, strength, bootcamp and more. They also offer audio only classes if you prefer to run outside.

The next app was released early specifically for those of us social distancing. Active by Popsugar gives users access to more than 500 workouts and challenges like the "4-week full-body fusion" for those who might need extra motivation to stick with an in-home routine.

Tone it up is free through April 13th. This one has live classes and a library of workouts ranging from ten to 40 minutes. Many of these work outs require zero equipment but have varying levels if you add dumbbells or a resistance band.

Between the three, Pelaton has the most variety. Active by Pop sugar is best if you want to get friends to join in and do the challenges together. Tone it up is best for those quick ten to twenty minute workouts if you have a short attention span.
